Best Winter Romance Books

4 of the best winter romance books

Fun fact: I love cozy winter/holiday romance novels, but have a hard time finding ones that fit my specific tastes.

There are lots of really cheesy, slapstick, “Santa comes to Christmas town” novels that I have started and just could not finish. (No shade to the authors—that is definitely someone’s cup of tea, just not mine.)

So I figured I’d take the time to share 4 of my top holiday-slash-winter romances that fit the following criteria:

My Winter Romance Book Criteria:

  • Holiday/winter theme

  • Feel-good and cozy romance

  • Swoony/charming love interest

  • HEA

  • Spice

So with that in mind, here’s what I’ve got for you:

1. Christmas in Coconut Creek

Author: Karissa Kinward

Available on: Kindle Unlimited & paperback

I cannot even begin to tell you how much I ADORE this book, written in dual POV between Ophelia, a teacher from Colorado, and Frankie, the roommate of her best friend’s fiance.

In this book, you’ll be swept up into the hilarity of Ophelia’s Christmas vacation in Coconut Creek, Florida, incredible banter, and a fake dating trope that’s pulled off pretty well.

Things I Loved: The banter, the spice, and how absolutely adorable/sweet Frankie is.

2. One Little Secret

Author: Rowan Eira

Available on: Kindle Unlimited (paperbacks coming soon)

This adorable wintry novel features Rune, a bookish heroine who loses her job and her boyfriend in the same day…which prompts her to attempt a winter getaway in northern Minnesota.

This dual POV book is filled with some pretty iconic wintry and cozy settings (snowstorms, fireplaces, and coffee shops), as well as a tall, dark, and handsome love interest.

It’s a modern romcom-type novel, but fantasy books are a strong theme throughout.

Things I Loved: Maybe I’m biased, but it was really fun to get a few of the more iconic fantasy book trends, like fantasy book balls and cosplay.

3. Snowed In

Author: Catherine Walsh

Available on: Kindle Unlimited and paperback

The setting is Ireland, and the heroine is Megan, a successful career woman who has reluctantly agreed to return to her small-town home for the holidays. She hasn’t been back in years, not since she left the hometown golden boy, Isaac, at the altar.

Who steps in to save the day but the charming Christian, who has his own personal reasons for suggesting that they fake date for the holidays.

What I Loved: Forced proximity (thanks to a snowstorm), fake dating, and some really good spice.

4. Holiday Romance

Author: Catherine Walsh

Available on: Kindle Unlimited and paperback

Another great one by Catherine Walsh, this one featuring Molly and Andrew, two friends who are just trying to get home to Ireland for the holidays, when their flight is grounded thanks to a winter snowstorm.

As the story unfolds—and as they race the clock to find a way home for Christmas—Molly and Andrew progress from friends to more-than-friends.

What I Loved: A little bit of forced proximity, some really cute banter, and Andrew is SUCH a sweetheart, you can’t help but root for him.

Have you read any of these?

Would love to know what you thought…and if you have any more holiday book recs to send my way :)
